Tate McRae, So Close to What ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❌

I’ve gotta be honest, I have never heard a Tate McRae song before today. Or, at least not that I’m aware of. Yet I kept seeing her everywhere. So going into this album I was looking forward to seeing if she lived up to this hype, and honestly, she does.

If you’re looking for an album that reinvents the wheel, look elsewhere. But this is such a solid pop album it’s hard to deny. You’ll find yourself bopping your head to it, guaranteed. It’s chock-full of hit potential. And honestly, when it comes to pop, that’s mostly what matters.

But would it be nice if she, maybe not reinvent the wheel, but at least add some cosmetics to it? Yes. Absolutely. But again, the music here so well done and fun to listen to that it’s ultimately a minor gripe.

Favorite song: “Sports Car”
