John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Power to the People (Live at the One to One Concerts) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

John Lennon is back from the dead! Holy Christ! It’s a miracle! No… Not really. This is a recording of the only two full length concerts he ever did post-Beatles, though. It’s interesting hearing him perform live because he just really never did it, and hated it.

But, this will make you wish that he had prioritized performing live. The performances here are great. John is energetic and in a good, jovial mood, concealing his nervousness quite well. The band is really tight. The crowd is loving it. Just a lot of great energy in these recordings.

Also, I’m really glad they included Yoko’s performances. I know Yoko is divisive, but I really do like her stuff. If all you’ve ever heard of her is that infamous Chuck Berry clip, then do yourself a favor and listen to her early 70s albums. She’s like a proto Kate Bush or Björk. Really cool stuff.

Favorite song: “Law and Order.” Super relevant today.
