The Linda Lindas, No Obligation ⭐️⭐️⭐️❌❌
The Linda Lindas are back with their second full length album. They’ve had quite the year supporting Green Day and The Smashing Pumpkins on tour, and opening for The Rolling Stones in Los Angeles. This feels like an appropriate victory lap for the year they’ve had.
But the album itself is fledgling. There are some really great moments on here, but at times it gets a little too cliche. They shine on their choruses. They can write really good hooks. But the songs here have a tendency to lean a little on the flat side. I love the production, though. Sonically it has a really cool throwback feel that doesn’t sound forced or phony.
But they’re still growing as musicians. I mean, the oldest member of the band is only 20. I can’t wait to see what all they go on to do.
