Tame Impala, Deadbeat ⭐️⭐️❌❌❌

Kevin Parker, AKA Tame Impala, is back with a new album. Their first in five years. The name Tame Impala implies the existence of Wild Impala… Which I would have rather been listening to here.

Honestly, the title Deadbeat is very fitting, because by the time you reach the end of this album you feel like the one song idea he seems to have had on this album has been beaten to death. Seriously, every song blends into each other. There’s no real unique identity to any of them. They all have a similar mid tempo dance beat, and very similar vocals.

This is strange because Tame Impala has always been anything but boring. So, I don’t know what happened here. The individual songs are fine, but as a collection it just gets bogged down in mundanity.

Favorite song: “Obsolete”
