Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre, Missionary ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are back together with a new collaborative album. Apparently this was supposed to come out last year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their seminal Doggystyle album, hints the title Missionary. But I actually think it works better being released this year with the old school West Coast sound revival we’ve seen. This is the perfect cherry on top to end this year. And while that nostalgia does play a part in this album, it’s not used as a crutch.
What drives this album is Dre and Snoop’s undeniable collaborative magic. Dre’s production here is impeccable. He still has one of the best ears in hip-hop. I guess you could say he’s… Still Dre. Thank you, I’ll be here all week.
But Dre doesn’t steal the show. Snoop sounds engaged and focused here. His vocal performance, flow, and lyricism is inspired.
