BLACKPINK star ROSÉ is here with her first solo album. Close your eyes, and imagine a pop album in 2024. Yep, that is this album. It is one of the most middle of the road albums you will hear this year.
There are plenty of moments here to make it an enjoyable listen, I’m not saying it’s technically bad. But it’s also wholly paint-by-numbers sounding, and that is the problem. This sounds like pop music developed in a lab. There’s no real personality to it, and because of that I didn’t walk away from this with a better understanding of who ROSÉ is as an artist.
