This album documents the unexpected, odds-beating return of the great Joni Mitchell. Joni was already retired from music for a myriad of reasons when she suffered an aneurysm in 2015, which left her unable to speak and walk. Nobody could have ever imagined that seven years later, on July 24th, 2022, she would return to the stage.
I really don’t think it’s hyperbole to call this album a miracle. There’s this overwhelming since of celebration that comes through on the recording. And not just a celebration of Joni Mitchell, but of life itself and human perseverance.
