Bob Dylan, Shadow Kingdom *MUST HEAR*
I went back and forth on whether to review this. It’s technically not new, because this is the audio to the faux-concert film Bob Dylan did when COVID shut down touring. But goddamn it, you have to respect the GOAT.
Bob Dylan is not known for being nostalgic, but on this album he revisits a selection of songs from the 60s and 70s, and one from the 80s. Each song is treated to a new arrangement that sounds more inline with Bob’s modern sound, and it all works. I do wish he had stayed away from his more druggy songs just because it’s awkward hearing a senior citizen sing those lyrics. But, you know, Bob will be Bob.
