Fox Theatre – Hays

Feb 24th, Giovannie and the Hired Guns came to Hays and brought their own brand of Tejano Punk Rock/Country to the masses. Opening the show was country rocker Slade Coulter.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect from the headliners, having never heard anything more than snippets from promos prior to the show. Over the last couple months, I slowly heard more and more from them in the news as their name grew across the country, but as they took the stage playing the opening bars of Pantera’s “Cowboys From Hell”, I knew that this was not going to be a typical country show. The Texas natives brought the house down and kept the energy high throughout their show, keeping the audience’s attention enough to receive a couple of bras onstage toward the end of the show. Melting faces and breaking down barriers, this is the kind of show that I need more of in Hays, and I do hope that Giovannie and the Hired Guns make a return to Hays soon.
