I’ve gotta be honest, I had no idea what to expect from this album. I’m not even sure I had ever heard a song from Iggy Pop’s solo career. But my God, this album was a delightful surprise. I went into this album with absolutely no expectations, and left thinking it’s an early contender for my personal album of the year. Devastatingly personal, the slow songs with Iggy’s pseudo Johnny Cash vocal hits you right where it hurts, and the fast songs exude all of the energy of vintage Iggy.
