Phoebe Bridgers is back with a new album. This is her first solo album in six years. There was so much anticipation and hype that I didn’t even think it was possible for it to live up to it. But somehow it did.
This is definitely a Phoebe Bridgers album. I mean, she isn’t reinventing the wheel. But she doesn’t need to. Her lyricism is as personal and vulnerable as ever. She runs the emotional gamut from joy to grieving.
But the production is where things differ. This is definitely her biggest sounding album. It just sounds absolutely huge at times. Definitely not stripped down by any means.
But yeah. It’s absolutely great. Puts everything else released this year to shame.
