Charli xcx, Music, Fashion, Film ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Charli xcx is back, already, with a new album. This is her second album of 2026. Of course, the first was the great companion album she made for the not-so-great Wuthering Heights film. And folks… She did it.
Charli proclaims “I think the dance floor is dead, so now we’re making rock music” on the opening track. Now, I don’t know if I’d consider this a rock album, but it does feature a lot of guitar. Which is interesting. It just gives her music a little bit more of an organic feel.
As always with Charli, the production is great. There’s so much going on sonically, and so much texture. Also, I found the lyrics surprisingly open and self reflective. She’s been accused of being too ironic, but I think she dispels that here.
