Matt Berry, Heard Noises ⭐️⭐️❌❌❌
What We Do In the Shadows fans still mourning the end of the show may take solace in the fact that Matt Berry, the regular human musician, has released a new album. This is his tenth studio album, and sees him wearing his 1960s psychedelic pop/rock influence on his sleeve.
This album has some great instrumentation, and of course Matt Berry has a great, recognizable voice. But much like the albums that inspired this one, I find it shallow. There’s a lot of cliches in this pastiche sound, which is to be expected, but it’s not all that elevated.
It sounds like a vintage record you would find in the dollar bin, which should give it charm, but it just falls flat here unfortunately.
