Wet Leg, moisturizer ⭐️⭐️⭐️❌❌

Wet Leg is back with their second album. This has probably been my most anticipated release of 2025 so far. I love Wet Leg’s first album, and the singles and promo for this album made it seem like they were about to really shoot through the stratosphere with this one. But did they? Or did they fall victims of the sophomore slump?

Unfortunately, it’s leaning more towards sophomore slump for me. This album comes out of the gates strong. The first half is amazing. Banger after banger. “CPR,” “catch these fists,” and “mangetout” are some of the catchiest songs I’ve heard all year. But then the second half loses its momentum. The overall quality of the songs take a dip, and they just aren’t all that memorable. Which is shocking because Wet Leg’s whole thing is that they write extremely catchy and memorable songs.

Also, lyrically this album can thematically and tonally give you whiplash. On one song, they’ll be in love, and then the next song they’ll be vehemently rejecting love. And it’s like that the entire album. It makes for a strange, bipolar listening experience.

Overall, I don’t think this is a bad album. Not even close. It’s just very lopsided and inconsistent.

Favorite song: “mangetout”
