Tyler, the Creator, DON’T TAP THE GLASS ⭐️⭐️⭐️❌❌
Tyler, the Creator is back with an all new surprise released album. This follows up last year’s CHROMAKOPIA. I didn’t formally review CHROMAKOPIA because it released the same week as The Cure’s album, so I chose to review that one. But it was a really great album, so I was eager to dive into this one.
But this isn’t the type of album you dive into. This is a feel good album. It opens with a voiceover that says “Leave your baggage at home, none of that deep shit,” so right off the bat you know this is a different beast. The music on this album never stops being danceable, and Tyler is back to writing some of the most funny and outlandish bars in hip hop.
But my biggest problem with this album is the runtime. I’ll always advocate for shorter albums because I truly believe shorter albums make for more focused albums, but this is too short! Running at only 29 minutes, it’s bordering on an EP.
This albums gets the job done, and is a solid album. But with the shadow of CHROMAKOPIA still looming large, and the short runtime, I can’t help but feel a little underwhelmed.
