Laufey, A Matter of Time ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❌
It was only a matter of time before Laufey released a new album. Did that Laufey joke make you laugh-ey? Hi hungry, I’m Dad.
Anyways, onto business. Laufey is back with her brand of Jazz infused Pop music. Her sound is a throwback to the early-mid 60s when Pop records were likely to have a sweeping string orchestra, or some heavy Jazz influence. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual modern Pop sound.
This album can be separated into two separate ethos: A very sarcastic, funny one, and a contrasting deadly serious one. On songs like “Clockwork” and “Mr. Eclectic” Laufey can bowl you over with her wit. But songs like “Snow White” and “Castles in Hollywood” leave you devastated.
A really good album from Laufey here. Does drag a bit in the middle of the album, but finishes strong.
