Baby Keem, Ca$ino ⭐️⭐️❌❌❌
Baby Keem is back with a new album. This is his first since 2021’s The Melodic Blue. So, it’s been quite awhile, especially for such an up and coming artist who is still trying to find his sound and place.
But anyways, lack of prolific-ness aside, I do think that on this album he is still searching for his sound. He packed this pretty short and compact album full of different styles. Most of them really work, but it feels like it’s less of an exercise in versatility and just kind of him trying different things out.
Now, onto the GOAT in the room, his cousin Kendrick Lamar… He absolutely steals the show on his feature, and then later on in the album when Keem is seemingly doing a Kendrick impression, you just kind of wish you were listening to Kendrick. It’s such a double edged sword to be so closely associated with Kendrick, and have him feature on your work.
But overall, I think this is a fine album. Hopefully we don’t have as long of a wait for his next album, and we can start to see some consistency.
