Within a dimly lit basement bar near FHSU campus on Easter Sunday, Chuck’s in Hays hosted an evening of rock featuring Denver’s The Salesmen who were passing thru on their 2020l4 Door To Door Tour, accompanied on this show by Miles on End and Tree Kitty.
Continuing to explore their three-piece lineup and sound, Miles on End feel more and more comfortable in exploring what their sound is capable of, bringing more of a pop-rock sound and catchy choruses and riffs with their new songs, while holding true to what makes them fun to listen to.
Holy Shit, and I say that with full awareness with the show being on Easter, The Salesmen are incredible. This trio make sure that their personas of Salespeople are never forgotten, spouting lyrics that work against the grain of the sales culture, and breakdowns of sound that left me floored. I’ve heard drum breakdowns, guitar solos, and the always exciting bass solo, but when they hit all three at the same time, it is a thunderous, adrenaline infusing experience that gives me chills, wanting more and more of it as the show continued. Check them out!
The eclectic trio of Tree Kitty have always matched to the beat of their own drum, which on this Easter Sunday, was played by a lamb. Tree Kitty maintained their psychedelic rock presence, playing their well known hits and losing themselves in the music, continuing to be a presence in the local music scene.
