LINKIN PARK, From Zero ⭐️⭐️❌❌❌

LINKIN PARK is back with a new album with a new singer. Emily Armstrong is filling in for the late Chester Bennington. This announcement shook the internet a few months back, and was received surprisingly positively. But that just goes to show the goodwill the band has built up between their fanbase and themselves.

But does this new look LINKIN PARK capitalize on this warm welcome back? Yes, and no. While I’m sure fans clamoring for anything new from this truly beloved band will eat this up, it feels like a lot of nostalgic rehash than an actual new era or new start. Granted, I do not envy being in their position, because how do you reboot a band with such a dedicated following?

Basically, they have made Star Wars: The Force Awakens the album. They’ve played it safe for the fans. There is promise, and having the new dynamic of the male and female trade off vocals has so much potential, yet you’re kind of just left saying, “This feels a little too familiar.” But honestly, the fans seem to be enjoying it, and that’s ultimately all that matters.

Favorite song: “Overflow”
