Ariana Grande is back with a new album. Ariana is one of those artists where, I kinda forget that I like their music, but then their next album comes out and I’m like, “Oh yeah, that’s right.” And this one is no exception.
I like this better than her last album, eternal sunshine. The music on this is just a lot more varied, and she showcases a lot more creativity with her vocals because of it. The lyricism is, as always, a snapshot of what’s going on currently in her life, with some sex sprinkled in for good measure.
The production leaves a lot to be desired. It sounds very 2D to my ears. Like, things that should be layered and separated are just kind smashed together and fighting for my attention. Not good. But the music is good enough that you can overlook it for the most part.
