Be Your Own Pet – Mommy *MUST HEAR*
The recently reunited Be Your Own Pet is back with their first album since 2008, out on Third Man Records. As you can probably tell by the combination of the title and cover, featuring singer Jemina Pearl Abegg in latex, the lyrics lean towards the kinky side, but the music is pure 1970s Garage Rock goodness. I know some would probably write it off as pastiche, but it’s so much fun and so good that I’ll give it more than a pass. I’ll give it a spot in my daily rotation.
