Chuck D & John Densmore, do+pe = no country for old men ⭐️❌❌❌❌
I listened to this album because Chuck D actually just released one of my favorite albums of last year, and I was like, “Following that up with a collab with the drummer from The Doors? Interesting.” But no… I was wrong. Not interesting. At least not in a good way.
This is, without a doubt, the worst album I have listened to in my 3 years of doing these weekly reviews, and it’s not even close. Absolutely horrible. John Densmore does this spoken word hippy poetry stuff, and he sounds like a member of The Wiggles or something. He talks in a children’s entertainer voice. And then Chuck D just spends the whole album patronizing the younger generations. Just real embarrassing stuff all around.
Favorite song: I guess “every tick tick tick” just because it’s the first song on the album, so I still had hope for it.
